First Install SuSE 7.1 PPC on PowerMac4400 / MOUNT ERROR (trying to follow SuSE's manual from their whitebox SuSE Linux 7.1 PPC) On Sat, 16 Jun 2001,John A. Ure (john@jaure.demon.co.uk) replied to my initial posting earlier today and wrote :
I've had the same problem - I couldn't get the mount point to "stick". Try changing the filesystem to "reiserfs" then change it back to "ext2". You might have to repeat this, but I eventually got it to work.
John's advice indeed solved this "MOUNT ERROR" immediately, after just one time changing the filetype. Thanks a lot ! ( after four days I'm getting closer to the installation itself ;-) cheers, Carolus van Soest (carolus@mac.com)
