Nope, Build0006 is just the same. No joy either with the boot menu (ALT at start-up) or the OF prompt.
Of course, because nobody is fixing it. Please try to find out why it doesn't work - the fact that it's broken won't change otherwise :)
Well, yes - this seems to be the case. However, I am not a (very good) programmer, and neither am I very familiar with the details of the boot process - especially in the Mac environment.
I'm keen to see openSuSE PPC and pleased to help with testing but I simply don't have the understanding to do much to fix this. I'm hoping that someone on this list has.
Yes, I can google, and have been doing so when I can find the time, but I've not found much to help. Any pointers gratefully received.
Is it an option to use the hd boot option, for now until the CD is fixed, according to the link that Alexander gave? http://mac.linux.be/content/booting-open-firmware
I tried this on build 0004 but with no luck. I'll try to have another look with 0006. Acc. section 1 of this web site, all we need is the rather obtuse (to me) boot cd:,\\:tbxi - this gave me an error (I failed to note the detail). I also tried an external usb CD/DVD drive but with no better luck. -- Cheers Richard (MQ) Linux user # 439271 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-ppc+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-ppc+owner@opensuse.org
