I was about to update my kernel to the new stable 2.6.0, but notice Jens has added some changes since test11. Is there any reason to suppost the test11 patch wouldn't work? I guess this is just a way of saying 'Can we have a 2.6.0 patch please Peter?' -- Richard A Downing FBCS http://www.freewebs.com/109bean/ Anyone sending unwanted advertising e-mail to this address will be charged $25 for network traffic and computing time. Yes, I did that of course. Perhaps you had trouble understanding my posting? As I said, I had ulterior motives in asking on this list. BTW Please don't send me copies of your list postings - AFAIK you have to be a subscriber to post here. -- Richard A Downing FBCS http://www.freewebs.com/109bean/ Anyone sending unwanted advertising e-mail to this address will be charged $25 for network traffic and computing time. No, the test11 patch should work just as well with 2.6.0 as it did with 2.6.0-test11. That doesn't necessarily mean it will work on either kernel unfortunately. Thanks Peter, I've installed the patch now, and can confirm that it appears to work OK with my old HP 9310i. I suppose I should update my hint at LinuxFromScratch, I'll see if there is time over the holidays. Best wishes. I have created a new patch that hopefully fixes this problem. (At least it does for my Acer USB drive.) http://w1.894.telia.com/~u89404340/patches/packet/2.6/packet-2.6.1-rc1.patch... -- Peter Osterlund - petero2@telia.com http://w1.894.telia.com/~u89404340
