Input/Ouput Error & cdrwtool
Hi, I have an Acer peripherals CDRW 6x4x32 drive and have been trying to get it to work with Packet-CD. When I run cdrwtool the programs offers to write a long track. After a good while (~30min maybe) the program terminates. The dialogue is as follows... -------------------------------------------------------------- using device /dev/hdb 1596KB internal buffer setting write speed to 12x Settings for /dev/hdb: Fixed packets, size 32 Mode-2 disc I'm going to do a quick setup of /dev/hdb. The disc is going to be blanked and formatted with one big track. All data on the device will be lost!! Also the buffer size is reported as 1.5MB when the drive is fitted with 2MB. I have the same drive and can confirm almost everything above. You have 'sense 0a.00.00' as output from the cdrwtool command, but mine is 0c.08.d9. And also your sense key is logged but mine isn't. Other than those two things, everything else is identical. I've tried to get this drive packet writing with 3 or 4 packet-patches and kernels, and it has never worked. Using SCSI emulation it doesn't even make this much progress. If I ever get it going, I'll let you know. - -- Skip ID: 0x7EDDDB0A -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iEYEARECAAYFAjt/9OoACgkQBMKxVH7d2wpqlwCg71zwqAygd6Ew9m4V1irN1lPP b+cAoIDPCf4t6BGWCkN6NARxtmtti6lE =PTmo -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
