From what I've read on DVD-video and UDF, it seems
Hello, I'm trying to create a MiniDVD using packet writing. I'm using kernel 2.6.5 (patched for supporting pktcdvd). I've got a small dvd-video structure (audio_ts and video_ts) created using dvdauthor. (If I use dvd-iso to create an DVD/CD image and write it using cdrecord on a CDRW, I can play it on a stand-alone DVD player.) I tried this: cdrwtool -d /dev/sr0 -t 10 -m 295232 -v 0x0102 (I had to specify "-m 295232", otherwise cdrwtool goes too far) mkudffs -r 0x0102 -b 2048 /dev/pktcdvd0 mount /dev/pktcdvd0 /mnt/cdrom cp -R video_ts audio_ts /mnt/cdrom umount /mnt/cdrom The resulting CD (or miniDVD) can't be played on a standalone player. I've managed to try it under Windows, and WinDVD can play it. But under linux, I can't make mplayer nor xine read it. that it would need a "lead-out". I also found a web page mentioning a "finalization to ISO" (?) that would be made once we know we don't want to add anything to the RW medium. Thus, I tried "dvd+rw-format -lead-out /dev/sr0", which didn't work because I'm using a CD. Any idea if it's possible to write miniDVDs (that can be played on a standalone DVD player) using packet writing? Did I do something wrong? Would the same problem happen using a DVD instead of a CD? Thanks, Bruno. ____________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Messenger - Communicate instantly..."Ping" your friends today!
