Look, even if the configure script works without the changes to remove
depreciated functions, the other patches need to reconfigure the
script. I still have issues with undefined macros :

m4_pattern_allow.

Does it? It works fine with autoconf 2.69, with which the configure script was generated.
Anyway, the patch to find ptconfig is absolutely needed.
