Doesn't that make the fastboot people cry? What about using a simple configuration file format like in /etc/permissions and have a while/read loop or a small C program do the actual job? That would potentially also allow to natively integrate the feature into other boot methods that don't rely on scripts. well, actually I was thinking about the read loop initially. For one I was scared it would be slower than script snippets and the snippets do offer more flexibility. If you think all we will ever need there is really "installl -d -m $mode -u $user -g $group $dir"

Looks like noone else has an opinion this. IMO config files in /etc/permissions format are sufficient for this specific purpose. Using config files instead of programs means less ways to get it wrong for packagers and allows for different implementations in the future. If anyone actually needs more it's just a matter of adding a minimal init script. Therefore I'd vote for using config files. cu Ludwig -- (o_ Ludwig Nussel //\ V_/_ http://www.suse.de/ SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org
