There are a number of repositories for software written in specific development language, including packages not meant for factory. I am not sure if I understood you - what would be in such repository and why it won't be added into Factory?
I was not really proposing the creation of a new repository. I knew that there were devel:languages:python, devel:languages:python3, and devel:languages:perl, which were general projects for packages written using those languages which other projects then link to. I saw that several projects I am involved in have general-purpose packages written in Java that are not linked to a similar common Java repository, and I saw that there were a bunch of Java: repositories but couldn't figure out the purpose of all of them, so I was wondering if there was something analogous to devel:languages:python and devel:languages:perl projects for Java so I could move the packages there. There doesn't seem to be, so I will just leave them where they are.
I am afraid such repo would contain an unmaintained mess only.
It seems to work reasonably well for the above-mentioned projects, but that is probably only because there are users of that language that do the maintenance. If there is nobody similar for Java, then I doubt it would work.
However there is old Java:addon repository (with an unmaintained mess ;-). If you want to have such repo, feel free to ping me and I will add you as a maintainer of this project.
I don't have any real interest in or knowledge of Java, I was just trying to determine the proper place (if any) for packages written Java. -Todd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org
