On a related note: What I'm seeing for quite a while now, not an error but a warning, is the following: char *prop = "laptop_panel.num_levels"; Compiler output: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' What would result in char *prop = (char*)"laptop_panel.num_levels"; Uhm, that's ugly ;-) What's the rationale behind this?
