Have I said that I want the project to "detach" from upstream ? no, what I said that forcing this rule in unpractical unless you have infinite time or a horde of developers (hint.we don't)
This BTW works perfectly fine on linux-only projects...maybe I should just devote my time to such projects only.. ;-)
Having patches in openSUSE is nothing bad / wrong (hint: Factory has > 10'000 at the moment!) but, as you state yourself: we do not have an army of coders: Who does take care of those 10'000 patches?
I do care and will fix those I introduce that causes bugs or regressions, I believe it is fair to ask the same for other people.
I hope we are not measuring complexity or anything important by the number of patches are we ?
Are you actually sending your own patches upstream? The O_CLOEXEC ones at least are quite intrusive.
Just wondering.
Ciao, Marcus
To linux-only projects, directly, however to multi-os projects most are not, I dont have time to write the ugly and likely moire buggy wrappers that some projects use, in which O_CLOEXEC is tested at compile time and at runtime. If you think there is a bug let me to know I will fix them. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org
