openSUSE is collaborativ work. There is REALLY no reason to make work for potential new contributors extremely difficult..
Now now... is this mini-flamewar really necessary? A patch tag isn't "extremely difficult", especially since I've been asked to produce them in the past, and it takes the whole 5 minutes each one in this thread has wasted discussing it. Although I agree reporting things upstream is good, the guidelines do not force you to. I quote: """ If there are related bugs in Novell or other bugzillas, please add them, it will help us to get more accurate information. If there are two or more available then it's preferable to list both (or more). """ And I've seen patch tags without bug numbers accepted. So... if adding a comment line summarizing why you need the patch is "extremely difficult", someone's being picky. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org
