Dave,
My package is here[1]. I've made this package for later inclusion in GNOME:Ayatana since I also need GLEWmx available, which is also provided by this package. I'm not sure if you also need GLEWmx.
The package is built just like in Debian, first we build the regular GLEW libraries and install them, after this we build and install GLEWmx and package them in separate packages sharing the same development package.
The most significative change is that I only use pkgconfig() calls, but that can be easilly reverted for backwards compatibility.
Dave, take a look into it, if it suits you, I'll branch the one on mm:libs, update it and re-submit it :)

I will have a look, not sure if GLEWmx is needed but if a newer version of glew is available I might as well update it. I was worried that you were going to submit to multimedia:libs and someone else would accept it while I was sorting the license issue out. Watch this space for license news. Thanks Dave P

I have an updated package (1.6.0) at home:ketheriel:ayatana/glew, and I believe that glew is licensed under BSD and MIT, I don't really find any other mention in the documentation provided with the package.

Would you mind submitting it to home:plater instead of multimedia:libs otherwise I'll have twice as much work getting it to Factory. Thanks Dave P
