Re: [suse-multimedia-e] Console resolution problems
Hmmm, Never tried changing the text console res before! I always use a resized terminal window within KDE... I just switched to SuSE 9.0, winbook Z1 (1400x1050 ATi Rage Pro 128 Mobile) so I bet this will work under 8.2 also. May not be kosher but it worked for me. Cheat: when you boot up pass the kernel "vga=1400x1050" and you get the native resolution. Type it into the box at the bottom of the grub boot/choice screen. You can also make it permanent by editing /boot/grub/grub.conf Cheers, JF *********** REPLY SEPARATOR *********** On 11/5/2003 at 6:41 AM Kremer Pavel | BDO IT a.s. wrote:
Hello,
I'm using SuSE 8.2. on IBM R40 Series notebook with ATI Radeon Mobility 7500 graphic card. The LCD display was made for primary resolution 1400x1050. I have no problem under X, but in the console mode I can't set this resolution and a screen is not sharp.
I'm guessing that need to change frame buffer settings (/etc/fb.modes), but I have no idea how to do that, or how to calculate all frame buffer parameters.
Thanks in advance
