Hello, I just purchased a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard and Mouse bundle. But before I open the box I need to know if it is difficult getting a wireless keyboard and mouse functioning on a SuSE 7.3 installation. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Regards, Nick
I have experienced problems with PC keyboards not working properly at the bios (ok) prompt particularly with the key repeat. ie the last key that's pressed is repeated until the next one. Other than that they seem to work OK except if you're dual booting with solaris then you don't have the extra function keys like the "front" key etc that the Sun keyboards have. Why would a wireless keyboard/mouse be more difficult than a wired one? For the computer/OS there's nothing diffirent (as long as you put the batteries in the correct way :-). I used to have a wireless Logitech combo, which worked fine with 7.1. Now a use a wired USB MS natural Pro with a wired USB MS optical. Both worked flawlessly from the second I plugged them in, which is rather funny, since I couldn't get either of them working under Win98 without plugging in my old stuff in order to install the drivers! Funny, isn't it? we used to think that everything *may* work with linux, one just needs to spend some time setting things up (maybe recompiling the kernel or downloading some extra stuff). And recently I've got a web-cam, that worked as you said "from

Still under W2k I still can't use it as it's detected wrongly, then the OS claim that on the drivers CD there are no drivers for that camera, finally I got the drivers from the net and still it's VERY slow! Something changed somewhere :) Cheers Eduard __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Sports - sign up for Fantasy Baseball http://sports.yahoo.com

No problems at all. Anyway, You have to plug something into your KBD port... I've got an i-touch from logitech with Suse 7.3, and no problems :o) _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com
