Hi Kay, I faced similar issues. In my case there was an issue with module unloading. I'd suggest to unload the sound modules (network card modules ...) prior to attempting the hibernation (and this will be a try and fail process). Does your machine resume immediately? This happens here on HP NX9420.

Any hints? Which logs are interesting for you?

Do you find in /var/log/messages something like ...
