I have bought a copy of Open Suse (310059239/10) and am running it on a Sony VGN-NR21Z. Mostly it works very well, but one of two things I am having diuficulty with is printing on a Canon iP4500. The Canon web-site says that it is supported and Suse seems to recognize the printer. However, when I install it using the Canon drivers (http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0028476.asp?model=) but I am not sure they work. When I try and print a file, I can see it Queued in KJobViewer, but it won't print. The iP4500 printer icon is shown with a small red cross on it, indicating a problem. I think there is a problem relating to how the file is spooled to the printer. Do I need to set up a spooler and does it relate to the parameters in the command below? lpadmin -p IP4500 -m canonip4500.ppd -v cnij_usb:/dev/usb/lp0 -E If anyone can help, I would be very grateful. Regards, William Portal.
