When I try to shutdown the laptop when running Suse Linux 9, it will turn off the screen, turn off the hard drive, turn off the fan, etc. However, the power light stays on, and the system gets very warm where the cpu (processor) is. This does not happen on Windows XP or windows 2000 (only on Suse Linux). After I shutdown the system from either KDE (or directly through a linux shell) it seems to go fine and end all processes, turn off usb devices, etc. But the power light stays on, and the cpu (Pentium M) still seems to be running (and using up battery life). I have found that if I remove the battery the system obviously turns off completely. OR, if I press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, the system will eventually power-off completely, but shouldn't it shutdown completely on it's own?? (note: this laptop is Suse Certified???) Thanks for any help/suggestions you can offer! --- __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Get better spam protection with Yahoo! Mail. http://antispam.yahoo.com/tools
