[opensuse-marketing] Want to help with something simple yet important?

Heya all, I've got a task for which I just can't manage to find time. I have wanted to do this forever: get the translated brochure texts from the odt files into the actual brochure svg files. This will require some knowledge of the language used: you'll often have to re-format or rewrite parts to make it fit and not sound weird. Otherwise it is not a terribly complicated thing to do, see the page I wrote on how to do this: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Inkscape Translation Review of that page is of course also very welcome! So see if you have time and can help out a bit here... Thanks, Jos

I'll traslate it to Italian. Thanks for reporting! Bye hawake -- Linux user number 433087 Linux registered machine number 351448 http://counter.li.org/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+owner@opensuse.org

Question: do i have to fork the whole repo on Github so that i can send pull request? Or there is another way? (Same question about the traslation of landing page and wiki's strings but it's off topic in this case...). I'm not a git expert, so expect many problems and question from me! :P Bye hawake -- Linux user number 433087 Linux registered machine number 351448 http://counter.li.org/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+owner@opensuse.org

There's plenty of documentation for git. If you're in doubt: Just download the files via the http interface, change them - and send them here and ask that somebody commits on your behalf. AFAIK for sending pull request, you need to fork on github but that's an easy task... No problem :D Yes, you have to fork it - sounds bigger than it is, however. It's the way git works and forking is a completely normal thing, basically. You can, as AJ said, also send files to him or me or the others who have access but forking and creating merge requests is easier I suppose... But we can also just give you access to the repo, if you like :D
