How to manage 'People of openSUSE' (PooS): - choose who the team would like to interview * openSUSE members have priority and I strongly suggest stick with those for now (i.e. while there are members left for interview) * random people (there are people everywhere: security, KDE, GNOME, kernel, X, mobile devices, wiki, translations, YaST, UX, base, QA, etc[1]) - request an interview (a formal email) CC-ing the PooS leader (find email template attached) - once received the interview, thanks the interviewer for his/her time spent, check whether all questions are answered (if not try to find why together with the interviewer) - Prepare his/her photo. Picture creation with Gimp: * Filters -> Combine -> Film -> Film: click on 'color' and change the color to 639a00 -> ok * save picture with the full name (for example carlos_goncalves.jpg) - publish the interview on news.o.o (HTML template attached) * story category must only be 'People of openSUSE' * title: "People of openSUSE: $first_name $last_name" * a short description text * I did a dirty web system to quicker get the HTML ready. If the team (after assembled) wants it, contact me personally. And that's it, or at least I don't remember anything else at the moment. Ah, a free beer for the one who publish Adrian Schröter's interview! ;-) See also: - http://en.opensuse.org/People_of_openSUSE - http://en.opensuse.org/Election:People_of_openSUSE - http://cgoncalves.blogspot.com/2007/12/people-of-opensuse-voting-system.html [1] http://en.opensuse.org/Teams -- Regards, Carlos Goncalves

http://en.opensuse.org/People_of_openSUSE/About @all: that page needs some love - add general info, ideas, advices, and specially yourself to the team members if you want to be part of it! Anyone wants to be assigned as the leader of 'People of openSUSE'?
Carlos - thanks for all the profiles / interviews you've worked on, and for helping bootstrap the next person(s) who will take this on.
Thanks. I want and will try to be as much as possible in contact with the newest team members, so I'm not 100% "dead" :-) -- Regards, Carlos Goncalves -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

That sounds really interesting. What are the leader's task? I'm hoping for detailed info here ;).

Mainly coordinate with the team the next interviews (who to interview and when to publish) and have the responsibility to review queued interviews. If the team, which should not have many members (not necessary), can coordinate between with no one leading that would be okay though. For now we just need someone to take care of PooS and the rest will come out naturally and the team will auto-adjust to its needs. -- Regards, Carlos Goncalves -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

It seems it might be better to use this mailing-list for coordination, at least for now. Someone, who could lead it, might appear later. I don't expect so many interviews in the beginning. Bye Lukas

I can jump in temporarily. To see how it works and to keep things going. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
