[opensuse-marketing] Help recording video at openSUSE conference

Hi all, We need a few people to help record video at the openSUSE Conference. Any folks on the marketing team that are attending that would be willing and able to take a half-day shift (or longer) of running a camera? We have two tracks per day that need to be recorded, plus keynotes at the beginning and end. We do have one set of camera (camera, mic, stand, cables and tapes). That means we'd need 2-3 other sets + people taking doing the recording.

Just an idea: Is there something like "Offener Kanal" [1] in Nürnberg? You can usually borrow cameras etc. there if you allow them to send your video afterwards - which would be a plus from the marketing POV, because traditional TV reaches people that normally wouldn't know about Linux or openSUSE. Unfortunately I can't come to the conference because we start grape harvest tomorrow and I'm therefore quite busy in the next weeks. -> Please make good videos for me ;-)) so that I at least don't miss the content - the schedule looks very promising... Regards, Christian Boltz [1] for those who don't know what a "Offener Kanal" is: It's a small TV station where everybody can submit videos (and get help with the technical issues of producing those videos). The videos are then broadcasted as a "normal" TV program. (In other words: youtube with TV output *g*) --

Count me in too. For labor, not equipment. I'm also planing to broadcast some of the sessions on http://www.justin.tv/opensuseconference. I will be using build-in laptop camera. The initial idea was to plug HeliosReds into marketing session. And thanks him for the idea. Though I'm pretty sure others can see it too - why not. We'll see how it works out. -Denis On Wed, Sep 9, 2009 at 8:49 AM, Joe 'Zonker' Brockmeier <jzb@zonker.net> wrote:

Thanks an awful lot, Denis. :-) There will be "Japan Linux Conference 2009" on 17-18th Sep. in Japan. I'm now planning to attend the event and organize a BoF titled "openSUSE Conference 2009 - Tokyo Branch" on 17th Sep. 17:15-19:15 JST (10:15-12:15 CEST), just at the same time Weekly News session will be going on. I would greatly appreciate if I can see the session from Japan real-time. ;-) Best, -- _/_/ Satoru Matsumoto - openSUSE Member - Japan _/_/ _/_/ Marketing/Weekly News/openFATE Screening Team _/_/ _/_/ mail: helios_reds_at_gmx.net / irc: HeliosReds _/_/ _/_/ http://blog.geeko.jp/author/heliosreds _/_/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

We have a page here for volunteers to note availability: http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Conf_2009/Video Please add the times / days you're available and we'll get the schedule squared away. Thanks!
