But, of course each ambassador is expected to get the mandatory Novell tattoo. That won't be a problem, will it? ;-) No offence but i think...
This is a very nice way to make people not use and contribute to openSUSE. Many aspects of it must be liberated from the company it supports it. So in fact this phrase doesnt sound funny, its the bitter truth. In my opinion if openSUSE wants to spread more it must look more liberal on users and by being tied on a company like this has the opposite effect. So i think we better look after making non-novell-branded promotional material (including the presentation templates this thread is about).
I do hope it was understood I was kidding. (hence the smiley)
As I mentioned before - I would like to see a set of templates for
openSUSE ambassadors that does not have a Novell logo, and neither I
or Novell has a problem with openSUSE ambassadors using presentations
without a Novell logo. (It'd be *nice but not required if there was
some mention of Novell's role as a sponsor of the project -- but
that's up to the ambassador and whether they choose or want to give
Novell a mention.)
A lot has been done over the past few years to make the openSUSE
project more independent and I expect that will continue.
Best,
Zonker
