by end of day, I think we'll definitely recommend to Coolo to release on November 15th.
Why not release it during LinuxCon? You might could do a "live-release" during the conference? If not, 15th would be fine.
don't be too strict on the date? Better a good release than a buggy one
That's not really for us to decide on the marketing team. Only we can recommend ideal dates. Its up to the Release team to decide if they want to be strict on dates or flexible. However, while I do agree that a flexible release date would be nice to reduce buggy issues, I can also say that from this past weekend, that flexibility caused much confusion on marketing side as we weren't sure exactly which date and when to promote the release of Beta. Some of us were up pretty late at night with our finger on the button ready to release stuff as soon as we saw published Beta. In other words, there is no one perfect solution that will fit both sides. But, ultimately the first statement still applies: We do not decide for the release team, we only recommend based on Coolo's request for recommendation. That's it. Bryen
do not forget RC2 is nearly identical with GM (most of the time it is identical) and is available one week before release (time to press dvd)
you can make yours demos with RC2
You can also ask to have GM in advance
