Hi, I try to use the emacs that comes with 11.1 to display Chinese (and Hindi) characters. This does not work for some cases. Emacs displays just empty squares. (xemacs gets it right). Earlier I was told that there is a problem with Japanese characters that get in the way and that the mule unicode package fixes this and I loaded it in my .emacs file in earlier suse distributions. But the packages (mucs and un-define) seems to be missing from 11.1. Is there a way to get this working? Can the package be added to the final realeas 11.1 (or update server). Or is there a better an more general way to make this work. There seems to be something like that for xemacs. The next thing I want to do is displaying ipa symbols. Again it works with xemacs, but it does not with emacs. Thanks for any suggestions!
