With Qt/KDE programs you currently have only XIM and can only use one XIM server at a time.
As a (ugly) workaround you can start two such KDE applications, one for input of Japanese:
LC_CTYPE=ja_JP.UTF-8 XMODIFIERS=@im=kinput2 kwrite
and one for input of Chinese:
LC_CTYPE=zh_TW.UTF-8 XMODIFIERS=@im=kinput2 kwrite
Sorry, I was typing to hastily, of course you need to set XMODIFIERS to point to xcin, not kinput2. I.e. like this: LC_CTYPE=zh_TW xcin & export XMODIFIERS=@im=xcin-zh_TW LC_CTYPE=zh_TW.UTF-8 kwrite
and use cut and paste from one KDE program to the other.
