[opensuse-kernel] EOL kernel 4.11.8 in TW

Just out of curiosity, has the reason why TW hasn't yet moved to 4.12.x been discussed publicly and I just didn't recognize it? Maybe so many resources devoted to getting 42.3 released tomorrow? www.kernel.org says 4.11.12 went EOL last week, and 4.12.3 is current. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." There was a problem with RAID 1+0 on 4.12 kernels, see e.g. https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2017-07/msg00381.html Michal Kubeček -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

just fyi, NOTE that 4.12.3, at least on Leap, *crashes* when used with UEFI + Xen. Known issue, reported @ Opensuse & upstream kernel, patches available but not backported. Fixed in upstream 4.13rc (i.e., current Kernel:HEAD @ OBS works). Whether that's an issue for TW, I can't tell you ... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org
