Oh...You didn't get my transition...thought we were talking both kernel+ramdisk usage at boot... My comment related to the practice of having a ramdisk image + kernel in a file on disk that is usually located in /boot. So you would want to remove the linux kernel from /boot but leave ramdisk-boot image in /boot? Isn't that more confusing? I forget are the 1 or 2 files? Either way, you would want to move only the kernel off boot, and leave the rest there?
