[kernel-bugs] [Bug 1173008] New: Kernel 5.7.1-1 upgrade breaks boot
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1173008 Bug ID: 1173008 Summary: Kernel 5.7.1-1 upgrade breaks boot Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: pointedstick@zoho.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 838862 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=838862&action=edit Console output when using the 7.1.1 recovery kernel I just got a Tumbleweed snapshot that includes Kernel 5.7.1-1. After installing this update (using `zypper dup`) and rebooting, my system (Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga gen 4) did not progress past the boot splash screen. When using grub to select the 5.7.1-1 recovery kernel, I got a bunch of console spew and the cursor became visible and could be moved, but the system was otherwise frozen and the boot process did not progress, as before. reverting to Kernel 5.6.14 allowed the system to boot normally. Definitely seems like a regression in the 5.7.1-1 kernel. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
