I'm also observing this on my laptop with latest TW as of the date of this
post.It happened recently with newer kernel.
100% khugepaged happened with the following RAM usage:
total used free shared buff/cache
available
Mem: 14Gi 9.5Gi 866Mi 1.8Gi 6.9Gi
5.3Gi
Swap: 15Gi 9.0Mi 15Gi
Closing Thunderbird made the 100% usage go away immediately, resulting in:
total used free shared buff/cache
available
Mem: 14Gi 8.5Gi 1.8Gi 1.2Gi 6.4Gi
6.3Gi
Swap: 15Gi 9.0Mi 15Gi
I do not know if it is related to Thunderbird or just the fact that closing it
frees some memory. Next time this issue happens I'll try closing Firefox or my
IDE.
Restarting Thunderbird does not cause 100% khugepaged usage, although I'm
pretty certain it will happened again.
Inxi output:

Kernel: 6.1.3-1-default x86_64 Up: 4h 33m Mem: 10518.3/15213.1 MiB (69.1%)
Storage: 1.82 TiB (61.6% used) Procs: 363 Shell: Bash inxi: 3.3.23
