--- Comment #8 from Uwe Michael Scheffer
(In reply to Uwe Michael Scheffer from comment #6)
@Mr. Takashi Iwai, problem still NOT gone. Today, installed 5.3.18-150300.59.93-default kernel on top of current Leap-15.4 System. Behavior untenable as before.
"untenable as before" means the behavior just like with Leap 15.4 kernel? And Leap 15.3 live image works as expected? If so, you can verify the kernel on the live image and on your test system; if both are with the same kernel but show the different behavior, the cause is rather in the user-space, not the kernel itself.
@Mr. Takashi Iwai, yes, that's what I meant. I have a multi-bootable SSD with TW, Leap-15.4 (with 3 kernels to choose from) and Leap 15.3 systems on it. Leap 15.3 always goes to idle temp 45C, Fan level 0, however, the TW and Leap-15.4 systems both show the 60C idle temp issue. Installing 15.3 Kernels on a virginly installed Leap 15.4 system does not help with the 60C idle temps. And remember you CAN see 45C idle temps, fan level 0, too, on the latter systems, however, only erratically with a "mesasured" probabaility of ~ 25%. So, these are the current results. What do you make of them, what do you especially make of the stochastic behavior? Regards, M. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
