[opensuse-kde] Wrong xauth? WHY?
I don't know what to do about this. I ssh from my openSuse 11.4 machine where I have a Konsole session running to my new Fedora 15 box hat I have already done the ssh-copy-id thing. I get this message /usr/bin/xauth: /home/anton/.Xauthority not writable, changes will be ignored It *IS* so writable! $ ls -l .Xauthority -rw-------. 1 anton anton 0 Aug 26 10:02 .Xauthority If I chmod to -rw-rw-rw- OR to -rw-rw---- and try again I get /usr/bin/xauth: error in locking authority file /home/anton/.Xauthority I cannot run any X application, I get X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication. <application>: cannot connect to X server localhost:10.0 for whatever <application> However when I try ssh or running an application from the openSuse machine to the mandriva 2009.1 file server all goes OK -- Men do not like to admit to even momentary imperfection. My husband forgot the code to turn off the alarm. When the police came, he wouldn't admit he'd forgotten the code... he turned himself in. -- Rita Rudner -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
