Can someone shine light on the possibility to use 'sendImages'. Somehow this seems possible, see e.g.: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91596 http://commit-digest.org/index.php?issue=sep102004&type=Bugfixes (look for sendimages). However, how is it used? I have it around:
rpm -qa | grep kipi libkipi-0.1.1-5 kipi-plugins-0.1.0beta2-6
rpm -ql kipi-plugins | grep -i send /opt/kde3/lib/kde3/kipiplugin_sendimages.la .... /opt/kde3/share/services/kipiplugin_sendimages.desktop
Now how is this service called/executed? If I e.g. hoover above a picture in konqueror, it does not offer me to sent this picture when using the LMB. Nothing in the action submenu e.g. :(( Neither is it around in one of the showfoto menu's :(( I'm still looking for the possibility to decrease the size of multiple images and have them sent on the fly.... -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless

I have this ability via 'kim' that you can get from the oc2pus component in apt (that you undoubtedly can use). Peter Vollebregt

But, why only kim?? It has defined as a kde services: /opt/kde3/share/services/kipiplugin_sendimages.desktop Isn't than not seen by all other applications, when enquiring for the what actions are possible with a picture (png/jpg) file? BTW: what is being offered in 'kim' (isn't it kimdaba)? Can you resize and email on fly? -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless

Kim requires/uses imagemagick. Apart from kim i have also installed libkipi and kipi-plugins (kde component apt) btw: am using the latest kde version available from apt (3.4.2-3) for suse 9.3 but i had it working before.

? It works in konqueror in the actions menu

It is kim. And yes it can resize/compress and send (via kmail) on the fly.

Neither. It really is just 'kim' - that you can find in the oc2pus directory. See http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/9.3-i386/RPMS.suser-oc2pus/ Peter

It's perfect! Just what I was looking for. Now it works from konqueror e.g. as well :) -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless
