The answer: Unstable:SC users should be able to use the packages from KDE:UpdatedApps - and the base distro I guess - to get stable versions of NON- SC apps. As these packages generally should be "forward compatible". This would work, but only so long as every non-SC package is in updatedapps, even those that haven't actually been updated.
Todd, I will personally check that every package I move out of Unstable, is in KDE:UpdatedApps. If not, then I will validate if there was a version update and if so, I will place it in KDE:UpdatedApps. If there is no version update, then of course you would be able to find it in the standard distribution repo. If something does not work in this setup, then please let me/us know. Either through this mailinglist or on IRC (#opensuse-kde). Thanks.
