DCOPServer problem. kde does not start.
Hello, I recently installed Suse 9.0 on my system. It was running fine, until I tried the online update through Yast. The computer completely froze during the online update. I had no choice but to reboot the computer. When the computer started I got the following error. There was an error setting up inter-process communication for KDE. The message returned by the system was Could not read network connection list. /home/poorav/DCOPServer_localhost__0 Please check the DCOPServer is running. I have tried a couple of things here so far. I changed the permissions of /tmp/.ICE-Unix. Another peculiar behaviour I am noticing is that I don't have a .kde folder in my home folder. but if i try to create one by simply typing mkdir .kde, i get a 'permission denied' error. I can't create or see the .kde folder in my home directory even when I am logged in as a root. root cannot create the .kde directory either. Please help me and figure out this problem I am still new to linux and am learning. _________________________________________________________________ Find things fast with the new MSN Toolbar includes FREE pop-up blocking! http://clk.atdmt.com/AVE/go/onm00200414ave/direct/01/
