[opensuse-kde] Syncing Google calendar with KDE PIM

Hi, I have used akonadi-googledata so far to sync my Google calendar with Kontact, version 1.2.0-3.6. But it seems to be unreliable. When I delete an appointment on my handset, it still appears in Kontact, vice versa when i create a new appointment in Kontact it does not appear on my handset sometimes. Do you know another way to sync Google calendar with Kontakt? I know you can import an ical calendar file, but it seems to be read only, I can not write to it. Any other ways? Malte -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

You can set up a CalDAV resource in Akonadi. That is what I do. There are instructions on the google calendar help page about using CalDAV, and setting it up in Akonadi is pretty straightforward. -Todd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Okay, and this works in both directions? Uploading and downloading appointements? Malte -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

It's supposed to. I honestly haven't really tried it yet. -Todd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Oh no, my version of KDE 4.6.4 and Kontact does not allow to add CalDAV ressources.... I guess you use a new version of KDE / Akonadi? Malte -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

I thought it had been available for a while. You need to go to Personal Settings -> Personal Information -> Akonadi Resource Configuration -> Add -> DAV groupware resource. -Todd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

I have added a GroupDAV resource in the form of https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/[MyGoogleCalendar]/events as they recommend but the calendar still does not show up in Kontact :-( -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

I *can* help here, maybe.... open akonadiconsole from cl under "Agents" fine akonadi_gcal_resource_### configure it after the above action, "Syncing collection ..." appeared but I do not see any changes to my calendars, ... yet... -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
