I stated this before, but this really concerns me. When we get around to beta/RC stage of KDE SC, people will be able to use a mostly stable KDE SC, but they will be forced to use it with perhaps the pre-alpha level versions of popular programs like amarok that will be found in the playground repository. This could very well be the case for any KDE-based software that does not synchronize with KDE SC release cycle. Since no users of Unstable seemed to participate in the IRC meetings where the repo layout was decided, I tried to ask these questions on your behalf, expecting that this would become a problem.

The answer: Unstable:SC users should be able to use the packages from KDE:UpdatedApps - and the base distro I guess - to get stable versions of NON- SC apps. As these packages generally should be "forward compatible".

I was at a conference the time, that is why I didn't attend the IRC meeging.
