Hi, I am pretty new to Linux and Suse Linux in particular. On windows, I am able to open "Local Area Connection Properties" and click off "Show icon in notification area when connected". This gives me a little icon by the clock that shows when there is activity between my machine and the network." How do I get the same thing on Suse? Thanks for your help, Yaakov.

Some SuperKaramba widgets offer the same functionality (include in KDE 3.5) Joseph M. Gaffney aka CuCullin

There is also KNemo. It can be installed from yast. Could be that it is in some of the extra repositories like guru, packman etc. Can't remember. It will dock itself in the tray. Cheers, -- Sabine

Install and / or configure and activate KNemo (via the KDE Control center). If you're runing SuSE 10.0, KNemo is included in the distribution. In earlier versions, you can get it from Guru's RPMs.
