Re: [kde] [opensuse-kde] Re: KDE 4.2.1 Apps Toolbar (Text frayed-out)
< Solved (partly) > .... (Sorry for the top-post) In Personal Settings > Appearance > Style (2nd Tab) > Fine Tuning : Selected 'Text alongside Icons' (instead of 'Text under icons') . This solved the top of icon text being cut-off. However, it reverts to cut-off text if 'Text under icons' is opted for. (Images [5] & [6] below show proper icons & text on toolbar) Thanks, Jay [5] http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/6421/kde421dolphintoolbarico.png [6] http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/9302/kde421gwenviewtoolbaric.png -- 2009/3/31 Anne Wilson <cannewilson@googlemail.com>:

One last shot, perhaps the display size in xorg.conf is incorrect???
I don't think there's any problem with xorg.conf, since the display
in KDE 3.5 and XFCE is fine.
That doesn't necessarily follow. There are known problems with the NVidia driver and KDE4 because KDE4 uses parts of the driver that were not previously used. NVidia have acknowledged the problem and already done quite a lot of work on it. It's possible that your driver still has issues. To test that theory, back up your xorg.conf then change the driver to 'nv' and see whether the problem persists. If it does you can revert to the version you are using now, but at least you will have eliminated one possibility.
