What the... Did some of the gnomes interpret "hack"(week) in the wrong sense of the word? :-) .. or is this what happens when using freedesktop.org standards for icon naming? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

? Let me try: GNOME foot icon instead of KDE 'K with gear' icon. GNOME is not used here, although due to dependency resolution for some packages, I guess, that is installed almost all of the GNOME. I reported some bug(s) on this problem. KDE4 is started as different user that is using only KDE4. This is second update on the same content in ~.kde4 directory, but after last delete there was KDE Main Menu icon, not GNOME foot. I see that new update is available, so I'll update right now and delete ~.kde4 before starting updated version. -- Regards, Rajko. Done. The GNOME foot is still icon for main menu. -- Regards, Rajko. See http://en.opensuse.org/Portal --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Cannot reproduce, can you post a screenshot (eg tinypic.com) or try to find the icon/its name on your system? What else did you change on your system? The list of icons on the system seems to be fine: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=mbobk7&s=3 I went trough all icons and I can't find anything similar. The part of screen that shows gnome icon, even for add new widget window: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=9iy7mu&s=3 What I changed last was downloaded todays updates with zypper up -t package -r gwdg-KDE4_1 then deleted ~.kde4 directory in another user home that is used only to test KDE4, opened second session as another user, which created new ~.kde4. -- Regards, Rajko. Could this have something to do with that new standardised icon naming scheme? I can't exclude anything as I'm tapping in the dark. KDE is good as computer simply works, but when it comes even to cosmetic problems like this, I'm out. I have no idea how KDE is started, what is called first, where it looks for configuration, what is started next, and so on. In the meantime I deleted .kde and .kde4 and started KDE4 session again as second session. Both files are created again, but GNOME foot is still there. The KDE3 session that I'm using right now has no problems. I don't know where to look for icon names in configuration files ie. how to find the name of used icon. -- Regards, Rajko. The icon is called start-here. There is a kde specific version called start-here-kde, but it sounds like your system is set to use start-here, and is using some sort of gnome icon theme You have all icons under /usr/share/icons Where to configure the menu plasmoid to use a different icon I don't know. I haven't started looking at plasma yet Anders -- Madness takes its toll --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

OK. Find listed few icons start-here.png and one was in /usr/share/icons/gnome . Moving away that directory and restarting KDE4 session brought proper icon to main menu. Moving /usr/share/icons/gnome back and restarting KDE4 session made no change back to gnome icon. Though, when I was going out of session first time some application crashed, but logout went fast and I have no idea which one was that. I have seen only KDE crash handler. Now when I log in time to start is longer than with gnome icon. I can here one 'tang' sound, KDE splash screen goes from start to finish, but hanging few seconds after and than comes startup sound. -- Regards, Rajko. It should of course use the start-here-kde icon: ~> grep Icon /usr/share/kde4/services/plasma-applet-simplelauncher.desktop Icon=start-here-kde Dunno what could cause KDE to use start-here.png on Rajko's system: http://i28.tinypic.com/9iy7mu.jpg Bye, Steve --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
