[opensuse-kde] minimum phonon videoplayer woes
Hi, I'm trying to get the simplest of all phonon video players going (based on K:D:F), but while it shows the first frame just fine, and even scales it on window resize, there's no progress whatsoever (and just viewing the starting frame tends to get boring pretty quickly ;) ). It might be, that I'm doing something obviously wrong, but I have no idea what that can be.. (Please bear with me, my C/C++ brain is pretty rusty, I usually hack Python/PyQt nowadays). It would be nice, if a few guys could check this out: Put the three files in one folder, and run: qmake && make Locate some *.mp4, *.flv, or any other video format, that is supported, and run ./phonon videofile Does it play the video? To find out, which formats should be supported, check out the "Supported MIME Types" list from the Qt phonon capabilities example. My package versions in use: libqt4-4.7.1-145.1 {,lib}phonon4-4.4.3-52.2 phonon-backend-gstreamer-0_10-4.4.3-57.5 The latter two are from home:frispete:branches:KDE:Distro:Factory, where I try to get the phonon-backend-xine package working for 11.1, in order to be able to use it with the PyQt/phonon bindings. The (Py)Qt musicplayer example operates fine, btw. Pete
