Got a better crash result now through console. http://www.susepaste.org/20191214 You can find the output. What you can see: the about kontact, about kmail menu items display with delay, afterwards you cannot see you mail anymore. Or the mail displays but the whole screen begins to be a discotec and then the application crashes. If you think this is of interest, please advise me how to get to a sound backtrace, so that I can post a bug report. See https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=997171 Installing the nvidia driver should fix it, or run kontact with "LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 kontact" (see http://www.mesa3d.org/envvars.html). You could set that environment variable system or account wide, but then all applications (including Plasma, the desktop) would use software OpenGL rendering, so probably not a good idea either.
