I installed the kde 3.2.1 rpms for SuSE 8.1 but the install of kdemultimedia3-video-3.2.1 fails with

# rpm -Uv kdemultimedia3-video-3.2.1-10.i586.rpm unpacking of archive failed: cpio: Bad magic

This also fails:

# rpm2cpio kdemultimedia3-video-3.2.1-10.i586.rpm | cpio -dim cpio: premature end of file

I downloaded the file from multiple servers (ftp.kde.org, several SuSE mirrors) but it is always the same.

Any idea where to get a working file for 8.1?

I did not notice that error message and just reinstalled kdemultimedia3-video.

Same error message on my 8.1.

Looks like it installs partially, so a few files are from the new package, others are still from the old version. Hopefully there is nothing corrupt now. Mario
