Kmail and "reply to" an html message.
Hi, I just install KDE 3.1. When I use Kmail and try to reply to an html message, it quote the source code of the message and not only the letters. Is there any way to remove the tags ( "<h5>" , "<b>" ....etc) from the quoted message? -- Best regards ******************************** Nick Katsamas e-Mail: nkat@forthnet.gr OS: SuSE Linux v7.3 Kernel: 2.4.19 XFree: 4.2.0 ********************************

Best is to use *email*. Note: email != html, email = text -- Patrick Shanahan http://wahoo.no-ip.org Registered Linux User #207535 icq#173753138 @ http://counter.li.org
Hi Patrick, Can you explain what do you mean by saying "Best is to use *email*" On Wednesday 29 January 2003 17:57, Patrick Shanahan wrote:

No, what I am saying is when I receive and html composed e-mail I should be able to reply to it with just plain text. The problem is when I do this the reply has all the tags of the html format in the message. How do I avoid this (other than convincing an entire company to stop using Outlook:). -- Rick

While I haven't had the time to install 3.1 yet, it would appear to me that Nick is sending text. He has received a message that is in HTML format and is wanting to reply to it. However, Kmail in 3.1 apparently didn't do a good job of converting the HTML to text, it simply imported it (tags and all). Therefore you are preaching to the wrong person. If by chance I have misinterpreted Nick's message and he is sending HTML, then he is simply a part of the majority. He is just attempting to stay compatible with the majority of users that use the software from Redmond. -- Kelly L. Fulks Home Account

By now you probably found out by yourself but this is what I do: When I receive email in HTML format it isn't automatically transformed into readable text. That only happens if and when I decide I can trust that particular email and I put it in my HTML folder. This is a regular folder I made in KMail, the only difference being I changed the setting for it to HTML (Folder|Prefer HTML to Plain Text). When I reply to this mail the original message is quoted as text.
