[opensuse-kde] Weird desktop folder behaviour Tumbleweed.
On a uptodate Tumbleweed with look and feel set to Breeze theme and desktop theme set to Air When I left select on a folder in the Desktop Folder it tries to open the folder with Audacious. When I right select a folder it correctly opens with Dolphin Going to desktop settings Personalization> Applications> File Associations> Default Applications> File Manager and selecting> Dolphin instead of Audacious ( which it's defaulting to ) and applying then going back to try and open the file is again it tries to open with Audacious and the setting in desktop settings Personalization> Applications> File Associations> Default Applications> File Manager is defaulted back to Audacious. I've had this happen previously but the change in the file manager stuck when I changed it. What do I need to fix this? Thanks Steven -- ____________ Apply appropriate technology. Sounds like you might be hit by the issue described by DimStar here: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2016-02/msg00474.html -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
Ah Thanks Martin That's somewhat informative but really doesn't tell me how to fix this. Is the fix still pending inclusion to Tumbleweed or must I do something to my installation. The lack of stickiness to my selection certainly points to it being in a place I don't have right to change. sdm this seem to be different. My selection of Dolphin is not sticking or even being honored. The bug you point to is my previous condition where I could simply change the default application back to Dolphin and it would stay now it reverts to Audacious. I've had this happen previously but the change in the file manager stuck when I changed it. What do I need to fix this? I've got the same issue but with gwenview as the default file manager and not being able to make the change to dolphin stick. The original problem was a config file issue but now i think it systemsettings5 at fault. I raised the issue in the Tumbleweed mailing list on Wednesday but i got no response about it. I've logged it "Bug 359794 - systemsettings5/Applications/Default Applications/FIle Manager changes not saved" but i don't think anyone has spotted it yet.
Thanks Steven

This is a known issue, see here: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2016-02/msg00474.html. The way you set the default back to Dolphin is not by selecting the radio button for Dolphin in Default Applications > File Manager (it switches right back to the wrong default on my machine) but going to File Associations > innode > directory and moving Dolphin to the top of the list. That will fix it. I also had it open up folders with gwenview5 as well as Dolphin - Super User Mode. Try that and see if it fixes the issue. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
