i'm not sure what you mean by "bootable", since repo.s don't "boot" by themselves. you can add this to your repositories via yast or zypper, and switch KDE packages from the OSS repo (4.7.4) to this one, also via yast (software mangement) or zypper (zypper dup --from <new KDE repo>): http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Release:/48/openSUSE_12.1/ -- phani. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

What exactly do you mean by "switch KDE packages from the OSS repo..."? Do you mean disable any KDE47 repos? Or do you mean to allow yast/zypper to switch to the new source?
also via yast (software mangement) or zypper (zypper dup --from <new KDE repo>):

Another question: what about the KDE Extra repo and the UpdatedApps repo? BC -- The wise man does at once what a fool does finally. Niccolo Machiavelli -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

both; any other KDE repos have to be disabled, otherwise you'd get a weird mix. i was assuming the OP had a standard install of oS 12.1, which includes KDE in the OSS repo. in that case nothing needed to be disabled. if you're using KDE release 47 though, that needs to be removed. then you switch to the new (4.8) repo, either via yast -> software management -> switch packages to this repo, or via zypper dup --from <KDE 4.8>.
also via yast (software mangement) or zypper (zypper dup --from <new KDE repo>):

Another question: what about the KDE Extra repo and the UpdatedApps repo?
KDE extra is available & ok now for 4.8. there's no "updatedApps," as far as i know, but you can use KDE/Unstable:/Playground if you want; that's available for 4.8 / openSUSE 12.1, too. i'm using both of them, since i had app.s installed from there while using KDE 4.7. i had KDE 4.7 from the release repo, with KDE/Extra & KDE/Unstable:/Playground. i exchanged all these for their 4.8 equivalents, and the update went smooth. i did it via yast->software managmt., switching packages to KDE/Release:/48. for a few packages i was told to either uninstall them or allow switching to an "excluded repo," which were Extra & Playground. -- phani. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
