Hi Steffen! Because kdm configuration is not so difficult, I would suggest that you use the original kdmrc from the rpm and configure kdm again from scratch. The original kdmrc which is insalled through rpm is located in /opt/kde3/share/config/kdm. Don't forget to symlink /opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc to /etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc Perhaps this solves your problem. Greets, Daniel Am Freitag, 31. first of all, complements to all working on kde, KDE 3.1 is a great release. good work.

But something goes wrong in kdm. After I pressed the logout button in KDE, two large black bars on screen overlaps the logout dialog partially . Only the "ok" and "cancel" buttons are visible in dialog, the rest is black. This error messages appears after starting kdm:
