[opensuse-kde] Broken dependency in 4.10.2: kdebase4-workspace and kdebase4-workspace-branding-openSUSE
Hi Guys, with the recent offering of KDE 4.10.2 in K:R:410 the dependency of kdebase4-workspace to kdebase4-workspace-branding-openSUSE is broken. Could somebody please increase the "Offers kdebase4-workspace-branding=4.10.1"with kdebase4-workspace-branding-openSUSE_12.3-249.2so that it works with kdebase4-workspace_4.10.2 which of course needs kdebase4-workspace-branding=4.10.2? Thanks a lot. I'm eager to test it :-). Ralf -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Ralf, can you check that you refreshed the repositories as exactly this was fixed couple hours ago? It might require downgrading the version as the correct kdebase4-workspace-branding-openSUSE package is at 232.1 Thanks, Hrvoje

Hi Hrvoje, man, this was fast! I checked my mirror at gwdg.de just 45 minutes ago and there I couldn't see this change. But now with another start of YAST and getting an update from gwdg.de it's available. Thanks a lot! But what I also recognized now with executing a search in YAST for branding, that a lot of branding packages changed the version number from 12.3-185.1 to 12.3-2.1. These kind of updates are usually not updated by YAST in an automated way - of course, smaller version numbers. Or I don't know the trick how to do this kind of downgrades in an automated fashion. Is there an important reason to do such reverse versioning or virtual downgrades? I brings a lot of manual work to initiate the update now package by package to a smaller version number. sorry for the downgrades - the branding package was split into a separate one for 12.3 (in contrast to Factory) and this new package started with a release number of 1 again - OBS increases this number automatically upon each build but only on a per-(source-)package level I don't know whether we could manually tweak this (in the meta info?) - alternatively we can increase this number in the spec file but I don't really want to mess it in KR410 in order to make future updates via "osc setlinkrev" as smooth as possible... we could increase this number in the KDF package though, I guess... In YaST you can switch packages to the KR10 repo again which will also install downgrades. I normally do that once I discover such downgrades: switch to KR410, switch to Qt (maybe more repos depending on where you got your packages from that are also in KR410, e.g. k3b from packman normally needs to stay - "keep obsolete package") Nico On Friday 05 Apr 2013 23:17:06 Dr. Ralf Czekalla wrote:

Hi Hrvoje, could you do the same change for openSUSE 12.2 too? The branding package is also only offered for 4.10.1. Thanks a lot Ralf On 05.04.2013 22:58, wrote šumski:

That should now also be fixed ;-) Cheers, Hrvoje
