[opensuse-kde] Deactivating application menu bar
Hi , I have a problem I activated the application menu bar in an upper panel. Unfortunately it turns out that with more then one display it does not really makes sense, or only if the app always runs on the same display, because the menu does not move if you move the appliciation. So I deleted the panel containing the menu. Unfortunately Kontact at least does not recognize that the panel is missing and so has no menu options anymore. Where can I disable this. I already tried to configure a new panel, unfortunately can't recreate the global menu right now. Thx Stefan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Navigate to Configure Desktop ->Application Style ->Fine Tuning tab Ensure that the selection is set to Application Menu Bar. If you want to add another panel, right-click on your desktop and select the Application Menu Bar. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

I'm not in Tumbleweed right now. But from memory when you add the panel - log out and log in. If you want to disable it, click on Application Style ->Fine Tuning tab. Change Application Menu Bar to Application. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks Roman, very helpful. Yes would be nice if you have 2 screens you also could have 2 Application menu bars and the bar would move the screen if you move the application to another display. So its sometimes a bit bothersome if you have your Email client (Kontact) on the 2nd Display and the menus are on the first display. So its a very nice feature but it has room for improvement. Stefan, Please make a bug report. It's the only way to improve it. The 42.3 release notes say if the application is based on Qt the menu will appear in the Application Menu Bar. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Stefan,
Please make a bug report. It's the only way to improve it. The 42.3 release notes say if the application is based on Qt the menu will appear in the Application Menu Bar. What if you try switching from one virtual desktop to another.
