[opensuse-kde] openSUSE's most annoying KDE bugs
Hey! KDE has two bugs in the "most annoying section" which seem to be resolvable. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=675405 has patches upstream. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=673755 which could be resolved by installing the mobile-broadband-provider-info package according to http://euroquis.nl/bobulate/?p=1211. At least the latter could be provided as optional/recommended update. -Todd On that note, will a working gobi-loader be in 12.1? I had to install from source to get my 3G working. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

This should be fixed in our KDE 4.7 packages already. Sure, but ther are users who rely on official packages+updates. And unless KDE 4.7 is shipped as an official update for 11.4 those people will have a crashing network-management and the above bug. Fwiw I've updated the link in KDE:UpdatedApps, so users of stable, official 11.4 can get the latest greatest NetworkManager plasmoid. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

And if you read the comments on the blog by the main pnm dev it seems that openSUSE is annoying him big time because of not shipping official updates for obviously broken packages. He even states which checkout should be shipped. http://euroquis.nl/bobulate/?p=1211 Sven -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Yes, we are really not performing well with official updates for 11.4. There was once a discussion if there would be an official update to 4.6.x for 11.4. And even if not doing this, there are quite some bugs at bnc, where an upstream fix is available (and linked from the bug report). And from my (very little) experience the update policy is much less strict than some time ago.
