I am still on 3.4 using the boxed version and have not upgraded, is 3.5 that much different??
Hmmm. Tough one to answer. It's a bit prettier, a little slicker, and there's features here and there that are useful. But on the flipside, it's not "supported" by Novell/SuSE, and doesn't get the level of QA that the mainline gets. If you're experienced, don't mind getting stuck in when you encounter an oddity, then I'd say it is worth it. Take a look at the release notes on: http://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-3.5.php http://www.kde.org/announcements/changelogs/changelog3_5to3_5_1.php http://www.kde.org/announcements/changelogs/changelog3_5_1to3_5_2.php to see the major things that might tempt you. Interestingly I saw on kde.org that they are aiming for an October time Tech Preview. Nice to be right ;-) There's also a working list of KDE4 features at: http://wiki.kde.org/KDE+4+Goals for anyone who's curious. -- Steve Boddy
