I've recently installed SuSE Linux 8.0 Personal and I have some problems with the kinternet application. When I configure my 56k modem dial-up connection using YAST2 and try to connect via kinternet, after a short time the modem hangs-up. From the log window I get something like this:
... pppd: User Access Verification pppd: Username: pppd: --> Looks like a login prompt. pppd: --> Sending: dummy pppd: dummy pppd: Password:
there is a known bug in smpppd (I do not know details). An update will be avaible via YOU soon.

I edited the wvdial.conf file, I put in my personal information (password etc...), and the Studip mode is set to 1, but still nothing! When I ran wvdial, I connected normally! Probably it is the bug in smpppd that Adrian Schroeter mentioned. I'll way for the update! Thanks!
